Audiobook chapters at Kannada Pustaka are syndicated as podcast episodes. Although this opened up our reach across platforms, podcast streaming is limiting. Podcast streams are not designed to organise audiobooks. To address this organisation problem, Shrilakshmi Shastry, an undergraduate engineering student is developing an application (both Android and iOS) to playback Kannada Pustaka audiobooks. This application bypasses Apple Podcast stream and fetches episodes directly from the RSS stream, 2) organises the episodes into grade (class / standard), subject and chapters 3) allows seamless offline playback option. Shrilakshmi is supervised by Rakesh Tiwari
Shrilakshmi is pursuing her undergrads in computer science and engineering and is interested in AI and android development. Her goals are to make content access to visually challenged students better. Apart from her studies and internship, she is interested in Carnatic music.
